You’re invited. Yes, you.

I’m photographing forty women over forty, and I’d love for you to be one of them.

You’ve taken everyone’s picture. Now let me take yours.

So many women spend years holding the camera for everyone else. Birthdays, graduations, holidays: your phone is full of the people you love, and you are hardly in any of it. Women over forty are so rarely the ones in front of the lens.

A woman in her fifties with short auburn hair and tasselled earrings, laughing, in a black dress under a gold sequinned fringe wrap.
A woman in her sixties with a silver pixie cut, smiling with her hand at her cheek, leaning on a wooden box in a mustard turtleneck.

That’s why I’m doing this. I want each of them to see herself the way the people who love her already do. If you are sure you are not photogenic, you are exactly who I want in front of the camera.

They said yes.Look at them now.

Not one of them looks like anyone else, and that’s the point: I photograph you as you are. Only forty women will be part of it, and when the places are gone, they’re gone.

  • A woman in her sixties with long platinum hair, smiling, hands on hips in a lilac pussy-bow blouse over magenta.
  • A woman around seventy with a silver bob and a red lip, hands clasped, in a tan knit and a gold and emerald necklace.
  • A woman in her sixties with cropped platinum hair and a wide smile, hand on hip in a black beaded top.
  • A woman in her fifties with a brunette bob, smiling, hand on hip in a powder-blue wrap knit.
  • A woman of fifty with long blonde hair, laughing and looking away, seated in a silver sequin top and jeans.
  • A woman in her sixties with dark curls, laughing with her arms open, a gold medal over her black suit.

Here’s how it goes.

It all happens in my studio in Palmetto Bay. One woman at a time.

  1. We talk about you

Before the shoot we sit down and plan it together: how you’d like to be seen, what you love to wear. The portrait is built around you, not a template, so the day itself is only the day.

  2. You get pampered

Sit back, relax and get pampered. A professional makeup artist does your hair and makeup, in better light than your bathroom mirror has ever managed. That’s every woman here: camera-ready, and still entirely herself.

  1. I guide every pose

The lights come up and I’ll tell you where to look, how to pose and how to move. Nobody expects you to know what to do with your hands. Nobody is left standing there guessing.

  2. You choose your portrait

Afterwards we look through your photographs together and you pick your favourite for me to finish and mat. The frame she keeps is the one where she forgot the camera was there.

Then we celebrate, all forty of us.

Every one of them was styled, lit and directed in my studio, and every one still looks like herself. There are 40 places and then the series closes.

One price,nothing to add up.

I kept it to a single price, so there’s no package to choose between and no surprise on the day.

Me, embracing my 40s

Hello, I’m Mera.I’ll be behind the camera.

I just turned forty myself, and I have never felt more like me. That’s the feeling I want every woman in this series to walk out of my studio with.

I am not going to promise that you will look twenty-five. You will not, and that was never the point. You will look like yourself on a very good day.

Save your place.

There’s nothing to pay today, and nothing is booked until you say yes.
